pH Meters installed in Specialty Chemical Plants

Chemical plant tried several types of pH sensors in the reactor, but none could long withstand the harsh environment. Shortly after installation, sensor response times slowed to a point that rendered the pH reading useless. Even flowing reference sensors, with both conventional glass and unique glass/steel measuring electrodes, quickly degraded in the harsh conditions.

We studied the process, and recommended a hot-tap retractable sensor type (for easy maintenance w/o affecting process). Together with a solid state reference, and protected flat glass bulb, the pH sensors we installed ensured performance even in a challenging environment.
